Wednesday: Sixth grader Milo enjoyed a special vegetarian meal of roasted cauliflower and chick peas on the menu for Earth Day. The school cafeteria has instituted a number of energy- and water-saving initiatives, saving 72,000 gallons of water and 7427 kWh of electricity in the past year alone. (credit: E. King)
Tuesday: 8th grade student Elea D’A. won First Prize for her design of three dresses (here, the wedding dress) using Nespresso capsules during the Fashion Show organized every year. The student said she used all different flavors (and colors) of capsules to represent diversity at the school.
Tuesday: Famous Belgian actor Jos Houben is spending a week with the 10th graders as part of an art residency. Here, he is showing them the many unconscious steps that go into loosing once balance and falling.
Monday: A group of 6th graders is on its way to the Carnegie East House, an assisted living facility, to spend an hour and a half doing community service with the elderly.
